  1. I have learn the culture and tradition of Indonesia especially Yogyakarta. I have learn the different beliefs and religious such as hinduism and buddhist. I have also notice that our tour guides, Serene and Erie have did a splendid job in terms of taking care of us and guiding us along the way. I saw that they are always the last to eat their meals and they do not sit together with us and check out what kind of food there are as some of them are beef dishes that some of us cannot eat. During the small hike to one river, Erie told us to go slowly as its slippery and steep and rocky paths and she keep looking behind and reminding us to go slowly but she almost slip several times that made me touch as she should take care of her safety also.Erie also tries her best to explain to us the history of some places but her english was not very good but she keeps trying. I saw the beauty of Mount Merapi and it was beautiful. I would tell the students of PSS that this trip will let you learn the that Yogykarta has a sultan and the people there respects their sultan. You will also learn how the past eruptions of Mount Merapi has cause great destruction and damage to the area near Merapi and the persistance to rebuild the villages and how they cope the eruption.

  2. I learnt a lot of new things. Going to Yogyakarta not only made have new friends but i also learn about their culture and traditions there. It was a huge eye opener for me as i never had any experience on living in a county like yogya. It was very different. Yogyakarta has a few religions and races living in that country which is similar to singapore. They have buddhist, hindus, christians and muslims but the people there are mostly muslims. One thing that i like about it was that although the prayer from the mosque was very loud, the other religions do not mind. This trip made me more appreciative towards other people culture and respect them more. I learn to become more self control too. I learn to control myself while the guide was telling us about the local places in yogya. The places there are very beautiful. Every places that we went had a story behind it. For example, the temples that we went, it always has drawings on the stones representating the stories behind that place. The trip was very enjoyable as i have not only learn new things but i also made friends with people that i wasn't close with at first. Without them and the teachers this trip would not be fun. I would certainly tell my friends and classmates about this trip and show them all the photos and activities that we did there. I would recommend them to go for this trip as its really worth it. We got to know more about Yogyakarta eventhough its just the introduction of yogya, indonesia. It was an eye opener for me, hence, i would really recommend them to go for this trip and let them see themselves how beautiful yogyakarta is.

  6. I have learn about the culture of yogya which is different then ours. The have strong historical place for example the borobudur , prambanan temple and the sultan palace.Majority at yogya are farmers. They also respect different religion for example the Buddhist, Hindu, muslim and christian. There a lot of enjoyable moment for example the farming where our hand would be dirty and more physical. Secondly , the hike. The place where we hike is cold , hiking for the best place to see mount merapi and take picture.I would recommend this trip as it is a fun learning trip. The place we visit cannot be found at Singapore.

  8. From this trip I have learn and also experience a lot of new this. I have learnt about their culture, some of their history and also their lifestyle. This trip is really an eye opener for me as we have some experience from the farm. Their lifestyle was really tough as they have to wake up at 3am to start work.We have also hands on activity on planting. Despite we got ourself dirty, but it was a great experience for me. This makes me to appreciate what I have more. I would definitely recommend this trip to the others as there are lots of hands on activity. The experience in Yogyakarta is something you cannot find over here in Singapore.

  9. From this trip, I learnt a lot of life lessons that are priceless. The visit to the farm was an eye opener to me and gave me the opportunity to experience the hardship of farming, even though it was just a little bit of it. This makes me appreciate what I have on my plate every meal and not to waste food. It may seem easy to trade for rice, however, the process to make it is never easy. This trip also allowed me to be exposed to many different cultures and learn about their origins. These valuable experience can never be experienced in Singapore. Overall, this cultural immersion trip is one that I can never forget, Friendship bonds were forged and it was definitely fun.

I get to know new friends and I was able to have fun with them
Honestly I really enjoyed myself. I learned alot. About volcanoes, Indonesia and people who live here. They are very different from what I see everyday and experience I would recommend because of all this experience that a singaporean cannot experience in Singapore
